HINDI inabisuhan ang Office of the Vice President (OVP) hinggil sa dahilan ng pagkakaalis ni Col. Raymund Dante Lachica bilang pinuno ng Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) Security and Protection Group, ang yunit na nakatalaga upang magbigay ng seguridad kay Vice President Sara Duterte.

“The Office of the Vice President was informed of the relief of Col. Raymund Dante Lachica upon his receipt of the order yesterday, October 6, 2025,” ayon sa pahayag ng OVP.

“No message or explanation was given to the OVP,” dagdag pa sa kalatas.

Gayunman, pinasalamatan ng OVP si Col. Lachica sa kanyang serbisyo at nagpugay sa ipinamalas nitong “resoluteness, professionalism, and integrity.”

“The OVP expresses its sincere gratitude for the outstanding contributions made by Col. Lachica to our institution,” ayon sa opisina.

“We have accomplished more than our targets because of his support to the vision of a life of peace and comfort for all Filipinos,” dagdag pa ng OVP.

Samantala, kinumpirma ng AFP nitong Martes, Oktubre 7, ang pagkakasibak ni Col. Lachica bilang commander ng AFP Security and Protection Group (ASPG) — na dating kilala bilang Vice President Security and Protection Group (VPSPG) — kaugnay ng umano’y “misuse” ng confidential funds ng OVP.

Epektibo noong Sabado, Oktubre 4, ang reassignment ni Col. Lachica bilang miyembro ng Philippine Army.
