KASUNOD sa paglulunsad ng Department of Tourism (DOT) ng bago nitong tagline na “LOVE the Philippines”, na layuning higit pang maipakilala at mapalakas ang sektor ng turismo ng bansa, tinukoy naman ang Palawan bilang ‘top travel destination’ ng mga Pilipino, base sa isinagawang PAHAYAG 2023 Second Quarter (PAHAYAG Q2) Survey.
Ang nasabing survey na kinapapalooban ng 1,500 respondents at ginawa nitong Hunyo 7 hanggang 12, 2023, ay isang independent at non-commissioned survey na pinamahalaan ng PUBLiCUS Asia Inc.
“It is a nationwide purposive survey with 1,500 respondents randomly drawn from a market research panel of over 200,000 Filipinos maintained by PureSpectrum, a US-based panel marketplace with a multinational presence with respondents, and distributed across five geographical areas: National Capital Region (NCR), North Central Luzon (NCL), South Luzon (SL), Visayas (Vis), and Mindanao (Min).” Ang paliwanag pa sa kalatas ng naturang SEC-registered campaign management and survey firm.
“The recent PAHAYAG 2023 Second Quarter Survey has revealed the top travel destinations preferred by Filipinos. The study provides valuable insights into the travel preferences of Filipinos and highlights the diverse choices among different regions of the country.” Ayon naman kay J.M. Siddayao, political analyst ng PUBLiCUS Asia Inc. hinggil sa naging resulta ng PAHAYAG Q2 Survey.
Nabatid na sa hanay ng mga popular tourist spot sa bansa, ang Palawan ang siyang lumabas na ‘most preferred travel destination” sa nakuha nitong 23%, habang ang Baguio City, na binansagang ‘Summer Capital of the Philippines’ ang siyang nasa ikalawang puwesto sa 16% rating.
Ang Cebu at Siargao ang nasa third at fourth spots, na kapwa may tig-9%, subalit ang tinaguriang “Queen City of the South” ang mas nangibabaw dahil 21% ng Visayan respondents ang pinili ito kumpara sa Siargao, na sa hanay ng Mindanaoan respondents ay nakakuha lamang ng 13%.
Nasa ikalimang ranking naman ang Aklan, na siyang nakasasakop sa pamosong Boracay Island (8%), kasunod ang Batanes (6%), Bohol (4%) at Davao (3%).
