Kamakailan ay dinagsa ang pagtatanghal ng Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra sa ilalim ng baton nina Maestros Herminigildo Ranera at Yoshikazu Fukumura sa University of the Philippines Los Baños Freedom Park sa Los Baños, Laguna.
Ang outdoor concert na ito ay inihandog ng Cultural Center of the Philippines, sa pakikiisa ng University of the Philippines at Philippine High School for the Arts.
Sa pagtatanghal na ito na pinamagatang “Symphonic Sunsets at Makiling”, ay itinampok ang Overture on Philippine Folksongs (George Bernard Green), Selections from Les Miserables (inayos ni Bob Lowden), Terre e Luna (Earth and Moon) na inayos ni Pipo Cifra, Eraserheads Suite (Ryan Cayabyab) at Bohemian Rhapsody/Queen medley, Overture to La Gazza ladra ni Gioacchino Rossini, Annen Polka at Emperor Waltz ni Johann Strauss Jr., at U.P. Naming Mahal ni Nicanor Abelardo’s (ina¬yos ni Edwin Lumanug).
Ang okasyon na ito ay isang symphonic concert ng light classics and pops, upang ibigay sa manonood ang rare experience ng live orchestral music habang nasa magandang senaryo sa paglubog ng araw sa kabundukan. Ang larawan ay kuha ni Orly Daquipil.
