NAKATANGGAP ng regalo mula kay dating Sen. Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr., kilala rin sa bansag na BBM ang mga pasyente ng coronavirus disease 2019 o COVID-19 at mga medical frontliner sa Tacloban City sa ika-63 kaarawan nito noong Setyembre 13.

Ito ang nabatid sa mag-asawang sina House majority leader Martin Romualdez at Tingog party-list Rep. Yedda Marie K. Romualdez na siyang namudmod ng regalo mula kay Marcos sa COVID-19 patients at medical frontliners sa nasabing lungsod.

Ayon sa mag-asawang Romualdez, 206 COVID-19 patients at 191 healthworkers sa mga isolation facilities sa Tacloban City ang nakatanggap ng gift packs mula kay Marcos.
Ang proyekto ay isinagawa kasama si Tacloban City Mayor Alfred Romualdez.

“In celebration of Sen. Bongbong’s birthday, we are reminded to give back to the people, especially the medical frontliners and COVID-19 patients who were victimized by this pandemic. They continue to face the brunt of impact of the coronavirus and this gift giving is a simple message that as their representatives, we support them, and we are here for them,” ayon sa mag-asawang Romualdez.

“We commit to aid our kababayans in ways that we can. The times may be uncertain and difficult but our spirit of service to the people shall persist,” dagdag pa ng mga ito.

Kabilang sa mga laman ng gift packs mula kay Marcos ay pagkain at basic anti-pandemic essentials para sa mga COVID-19 patient na naka-isolate sa Palo, Leyte.

Kamakailan ay nagbigay rin ito ng hospital equipment sa Eastern Visayas Regional Medical Center (EVRMC) at free accommodation sa mga medical frontliner sa pakikipagtulungan sa Office of Civil Defense (OCD). (BERNARD TAGUINOD)
