NAGING panauhin sa mababang kapulungan ng Kongreso kahapon ang pangulo ng Vietnam National Assembly na si Vuong Dinh Hue.

Ang pagbisita ni Vuong Dinh Hue  ay  base sa imbitasyon ni House Speaker Martin Romualdez  sa bilateral meeting nina Pangulong Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr., at Vietnamese Prime Minister  Pham Minh Chinh  sa 40th and 41st Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Summits sa  Cambodia kamakailan.

Iprinesenta ni Romualdez sa Vietnam official ang resolusyong pinagtibay ng Kamara para sa pagpapatatag ng ugnayan ng dalawang bansa na miyembro ng Southeast Asian Nation.

“Mr. President, please accept this copy of House Resolution No. 34 as a token of the commitment of the House of Representatives to be a steadfast partner of our Vietnam brethren walking lockstep along the path of mutual peace and development for both our nations,” ani Romualdez.

“Philippines and Vietnam have developed a special relation through the years anchored on shared goals, common visions, and mutual interests for the benefit of their peoples and towards a genuinely peaceful and productive path in regional cooperation,” nakasaad sa resolusyon.

Nagsimula ang diplomatic relation ng Pilipinas at Vietnam noong Hulyo 12, 1976 o pagkatapos ng Vietnam War, a habang tumatagal ay tumatatag umano ito.

Ang nasabing bansa ang isa pangunahing pinagkukunan ng Pilipinas ng karagdagang supply ng bigas. (BERNARD TAGUINOD)
