ISINUSULONG ni Senador Joel Villanueva ang panukala na gawing lifetime o habambuhay ang validity ng birth certificates na iniisyu ng Philippine Statistics Authority.

Sa pagdinig ng Senate Committee on Civil Service, Government Reorganization and Professional Reorganization, nagpasalamat si Villanueva kay Senador Bong Revilla sa pagtalakay sa kanyang Senate Bill 1281 o ang proposed Lifetime Validity of Birth Certificate Act.

Sinabi ni Villanueva na bagama’t walang nakalagay sa birth certificates na iniisyu ng PSA na expiration at nakaprint sa security paper para sa integridad nito, may impresyon pa rin na hanggang anim na buwan lang ang validity nito.

Dahil dito, naoobliga ang bawat indibidwal na magsumite palagi ng bagong kopya ng birth certificate.

Nagreresulta anya ito ng malaking abala at dagdag na gastos sa ordinaryong mamamayan at pabigat lalo na sa mga aplikante.

“We support the lifetime validity of birth certificates in order to ease the burden of our countrymen. I would like to express my sincerest thanks and gratitude to the chair of the committee, Sen.
