Senate President Francis “Chiz” Escudero joined fellow lawmakers and executive branch officials for a photo op after the signing of the bicameral committee report on the disagreeing provisions of Senate Bill No. 890 (SBN 890) and House Bill No. 7240, known as the Government Optimization Act, Wednesday, June 4, 2025.

Escudero, the sponsor of SBN 890, explained that the legislation is designed to empower the executive branch, enabling it to restructure staffing patterns across various government agencies and streamline the national government.

Joining Escudero were Senate Deputy Majority Leader Joseph Victor “JV” Ejercito, Bukidnon Representative Jonathan Keith Flores, Department of Budget and Management Secretary Amenah Pangandaman, and other officials from the executive branch.

The Government Optimization Bill is one of the priority measures identified by the Legislative-Executive Development Advisory Council (LEDAC).
