UMAPELA si House Majority Floor Leader Martin Romualdez sa mga kapwa-mambabatas na tumulong para maihanda ang lahat ng resources na kailangan sa relief at rehabilitation efforts matapos tumama ang malakas na lindol sa Batanes.

Ayon kay Romualdez, nakausap na niya si Batanes Representative Ciriaco Gato para alamin kung paano makatutulong ang mga kongresista sa mga biktima ng dalawang pagyanig.

Sa ngayon ay naglaan na ng  pribadong eroplano para kay Gato upang agad ma-assess ang sitwasyon, kasama ang isang team ng volunteer doctors, suplay ng gamot, ready-to-eat na pagkain at inuming tubig mula sa tanggapan ni Romualdez.

“I was saddened to hear that lives were lost due to powerful quakes that rocked Batanes this morning. I am asking my colleagues in the House of Representatives to help mobilize all resources needed in the aftermath of this tragedy.We already made available a private plane for Rep. Gato so he can fly immediately to his province to assess the situation on the ground. We expect an initial report from him the soonest time possible so we can help mobilize all the resources needed,” pahayag ni Romualdez.

Base sa ulat, karamihan sa mga nasawi sa lindol ay natabunan ng gumuhong pader o bubong ng bahay habang natutulog.

“I know the pain caused by such a tragedy. I also know the urgent need to mobilize resources at this very hour. Time is of the essence, and we need everybody’s help,” dagdag pa nito.
