INATASAN ng Malakanyang ang Technical Education and Skills Development Authority na bumuo ng 50 milyong piraso ng reusable face masks para ipamigay sa publiko nang libre.

Sinabi ni TESDA deputy director-general for partnerships and linkages Aniceto Bertiz III na ito ang bilin sa kanila sa Cabinet cluster.

“We’ve been tasked to mass-produce the face masks based on required quality standards and at a cost of no more than P15 each,” sinabi ni Bertiz.

Kapag nagawa na ay ibibigay ito sa Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) at saka sa provincial, city at municipal governments.

Sa pangunguna ni Secretary at Director-General Isidro Lapeña, sinabi ng TESDA na matagal na rin silang gumagawa ng face masks sa pamamagitan ng home-based livelihood support program sa
mahihirap na pamilya.

Nagbibigay na sila ng libreng face masks sa mga umuuwing Filipino migrant worker at sa COVID-19 frontliners tulad ng medical workers, pulis at volunteers.

Hihingi na rin ng tulong ang TESDA sa Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), sa pag-mobilize ng labor-intensive small and medium-sized enterprises, lalo na mula sa garments industry. (CATHERINE CUETO)
