ITINANGGI ni House majority leader Martin Romualdez na mayroong pagkilos para ikudeta si House Speaker Lord Allan Velasco.
“I don’t know where all these talks are coming from,” ani Romualdez kahapon.
Ginawa ng House leader ang pahayag dahil base umano sa mga kumalat na impormasyon, siya ang iluluklok na Speaker kapalit ni Velasco kapag nagtagumpay ang kudeta.
“Such idea has not even crossed my mind. These coup rumors have been going on since 2019 and to this day, there has been no evidence of one being hatched,” dagdag pa ni Romualdez.
Sinabi nito na wala sa speakership ang kanyang pokus ngayon kundi sa paparating na eleksyon kung saan kandidato ng kanilang partidong Lakas-CMD sa vice presidential race si Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte.
Dahil dito, umapela si Romualdez sa lahat na itigil ang espekulasyon hinggil sa pagpapalit sa liderato ng Kamara lalo na’t pitong buwan na lamang ang natitira sa 18th Congress.
“I have no intention to effect any leadership change, especially the speakership. I am man of honor, and I fully abide with the gentlemen’s agreement forged in front of President Duterte in 2019,” ayon pa rito.
Isa si Romualdez sa tatlong kandidato sa Speakership noong 2019 subalit hinati ang 18th Congress kina dating Speaker Alan Peter Cayetano at Velasco.
“I remain committed to performing everything that needs to done as the Majority Leader in the plenary in order to pass meaningful laws for the Filipino people until the last day of the 18th Congress,” ayon pa kay Romualdez. (BERNARD TAGUINOD)
