ADB TUTULONG SA BBB PROGRAM NG BBM ADMIN

NANGAKO ang Asian Development Bank (ADB) na makikipagtulungan sa incoming Marcos administration pagdating sa infrastructure projects.

Sa katunayan, nang mag-courtesy visit si ADB president Masatsugu Asakawa kay President-elect Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. nitong Martes, napag-usapan ng mga ito ang Build, Build, Build program, proyektong sinimulan ng administrasyong Duterte.

“The ADB is working closely with the government, development partners, and the private sector to support infra investment, including projects under the Build, Build, Build program, promote sustainable agri development and food security, and invest in Filipinos’ welfare,” ayon kay Asakawa sa isang kalatas.

“As we prepare our next country partnership strategy for 2024-29, we will be exploring opportunities with the incoming admin’s priorities on climate change action to support a resilient and green economic recovery, climate smart transportation, and continuing investments in education, vocational skills training, employment programs, health promotion, and social protection,” dagdag na pahayag nito.

Binigyang diin ni Asakawa na ang Pilipinas ay “key partner” ng ADB.

Nangako naman si Marcos na ipagpapatuloy niya ang Build, Build, Build infrastructure initiative ng outgoing administration.

Samantala, tinatayang 12 lamang mula sa 119 infrastructure flagship projects (IFP) sa ilalim ng BBB program ang natapos sa takdang petsa nito.

Dahil dito, mamanahin ng bagong administrasyon ang 88 proyekto na inaasahan makokompleto sa susunod na anim na taon. (CHRISTIAN DALE)
