MARIING itinanggi at itinuring ng Malakanyang na espekulasyon lamang ang di umano’y nagbabadyang ‘reorganization’ sa gabinete ni Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.
Sinabi ni Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin na wala siyang ideya ukol sa posibleng reorganization ng gabinete at binigyang diin na ayaw niyang patulan ang haka-haka lamang.
“Well, I do not know yet how true they are or is there any basis but usually speculations are always there. Hindi naman namin pwedeng sabihin sa inyo until nangyari na iyan because you know, we do not have compelling reasons,” ang sinabi ni Bersamin nang tanungin kung may magaganap bang pagbabago sa gabinete ni Pangulong Marcos.
“But speculations are ripe. We just, we cannot dignify speculations,” dagdag na wika nito.
Nauna rito, itinalaga ni Pangulong Marcos si dating Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) chief Vivencio Dizon bilang Transportation Secretary, pinalitan nito si outgoing Sec. Jaime Bautista, na nakatakdang iwan ang tungkulin dahil sa “health reasons.”
Tinanong din kay Bersamin kung hiniling ba ng Pangulo na magbitiw sa pwesto si Bautisa, “no” ang naging tugon ni Bersamin.
“Secretary Jimmy Bautista signified that he might need to rest because of health issues and the President was always solicitous of the health of his Cabinet members. So, when the President and Secretary Bautista talked about it, it became clear to the President that Secretary Bautista may really need to take a rest from official duties,” aniya pa rin.
