NAIS ni Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos, Jr. na magpatuloy ang imbestigasyon kaugnay sa pagpatay sa brodkaster at kolumnistang si Percival Mabasa o mas kilala bilang Percy Lapid.

Ito’y sa kabila na nagawa naman nang maayos ng Philippine National Police (PNP) at National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) ang kanilang trabaho.

“By the way, I’d like to remind everybody this case… was practically solved in 17 days. Okay. So, I think we can say that the investigating bodies have done a good job,” ang winika ni Pangulong Marcos.

“They’ll keep doing a good job until we come to the actual final, conclusion of this investigation,” dagdag na pahayag nito.

At sa tanong kung nababahala ba siya na idinadawit ang suspendidong si Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) director-general Gerald Bantag sa krimen, sinabi ni Pangulong Marcos na “Of course, that’s terrible.”

“He established his own fiefdom there in the prison. ‘Yung galaw niya is with no fear of being punished,” ayon sa Chief Executive.

“I think we’ve gotten most of those who are involved,” dagdag na pahayag nito sabay sabing dalawa hanggang tatlo katao ang nagtatago na ngayon kabilang na ang potensyal na testigo.

“But we’ll just keep going. Until we’re satisfied. Right now, because we haven’t spoken to all of the named suspects, middlemen, masterminds, the investigation hasn’t been closed,” ayon kay Pangulong Marcos.

Nitong Lunes, kapwa nagsampa ng murder complaint ang NBI at PNP laban kina Bantag, BuCor official Ricardo Zulueta, at iba pa para sa pagpatay kay Lapid at sa di umano’y middleman na si Jun Villamor (Cristito Villamor Palaña), isang preso sa New Bilibid Prison (NBP).

Sinabi ng NBI na nananatili sa bansa sina Bantag at Zulueta.

Sa kabilang dako, sa tanong naman kung may specific na direktiba ba siya kay BuCor officer in charge Gregorio Catapang Jr., sinabi ni Pangulong Marcos na “They know their jobs.”

“They don’t need for me to tell, to teach their job. But I said, you look into this. I want to know is how did it come to this?” aniya pa rin.

“In terms of investigating, alam na nila ‘yung gagawin nila. But we have to look bakit and see what happened here..? What went on inside the prison… that this happened? We just have to find out more,” dagdag na pahayag ng Punong Ehekutibo. (CHRISTIAN DALE)
