IPINAGDIWANG ng Bureau of Customs noong Lunes ang kanilang 118th Founding Anniversary kung saan ipinahayag ni Customs Commissioner Rey Leonardo Guerrero ang kanyang pagnanais na maging maayos, moderno at mapagkakatiwalaan ang ahensiya.
Naging sentro ng kanyang mensahe ang “Moving Towards a Credible, Modern and Professional Customs Administration” kung saan marubdob ang kanyang pahayag na sa pag-upo pa lang niya sa puwesto ay ninais niyang maging malinis ang ahensiya mula sa katiwalian.
Kasabay ng kanyang pahayag ang pasasalamat sa mga tumanggap ng papuri at awards kaugnay ng pagdiriwang.
“To all our awardees and jubilarians, your service and contributions to the Bureau is much appreciated. Each of you has given the best years of your life and we hope that the awards and recognitions of your dedication properly express the gratitude and esteem that we have for each of you,” pahayag ni Guerrero.
“Let this Anniversary be a celebration of the record and service of the last 118 years of the BOC as well as the milestones that we have yet to make together. Magsama-sama tayo at magkaisa tayo para sa ating adhikain at sa ating hinaharap, para masolusyonan ang ating mga problema at hamon. At sa ating 118th Anniversary, ako ay bumabati sa inyong lahat na mabuhay ang Bureau of Customs.”
Sa panunungkulan ni Guerrero, marami siyang isinagawang pagbabago lalo na sa computerization system program bukod pa sa pinalakas ang kakayahan ng Intelligence Communication at pagbabagong-anyo ng Customs Intelligence and Investigation Service (CIIS). Joel Amongo
