NAKIPAGKITA si Bureau of Customs (BOC) Port of Cebu Acting District Collector Ciriaco DG Ugay kay Cebu Provincial Governor Gwendolyn F. Garcia noong nakaraang Huwebes, Hunyo 22, 2023 para alamin at tugunan ang kani-kanilang mga alalahanin bilang bahagi ng pagpapalakas sa pagitan ng Port of Cebu at Cebu Provincial Government.

Sa nasabing pagpupulong, napag-usapan ng dalawang opisyal ang mga bagay-bagay na nakasentro sa mandato ng BOC sa mabisang pagpapadali ng kalakalan, pinahusay na reve­nue collection at ang pagpapalakas ng border protection sa pamamagitan ng port’s collaborative role in the One Cebu – Inter-Agency Interdiction Task Force (OC-IAITF).

Layunin nito na labanan ang smuggling at pigilan ang pagpasok ng kontrabando sa lalawigan.

“I would like to extend my sincerest gratitude to Governor Garcia for the courtesy extended to me and my team. Our meeting emphasized the need to ensure efficient delivery of customs services at the Port that would redound to the economic growth and development of Cebu Province. We are grateful for Governor Garcia’s unwavering support to BOC Port of Cebu. In return, the men and women of BOC Port of Cebu commit to work closely with the Provincial Government and the members of One Cebu – IAITF in protecting our borders to boost the business industry in the province,” ani Collector Ugay.

Sa ilalim ng pamumuno ni Acting District Collector Ciriaco DG Ugay at sa patnubay mula kay Commissioner Bienvenido Y. Rubio, ang Port of Cebu ay nananatili sa kanilang pangako sa pagpapalakas ng kooperasyon sa local government units upang matiyak na matagumpay ang implementasyon ng mga polisiya ng Customs at mga programa sa lalawigan ng Cebu.

Inaasahan na ang isinagawang courtesy visit ni Ugay kay Governor Garcia ay magbubunga ng magandang resulta partikular sa usapin ng pagpapalakas ng revenue collection ng BOC-POC.
