IKINASA ni Senador Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa ang isang resolusyon upang paimbestigahan ang pagtanggal ng ilang pro-government at anti-communist pages sa Facebook dahil nilabag nito ang right to free speech ng mga Filipino.
Sa pahayag, sinabi ni Dela Rosa na tinanggal ng social media giant ang 2 networks sa kanilang platform dahil sa “coordinated inauthentic behavior” o manipulasyon ng kompanya sa Pilipinas.
“There is an urgent need for the Senate to investigate the censorship done by Facebook considering that it affects not only the peace and order, and security of our country, but likewise greatly affects every Filipino’s freedom of expression as guaranteed by no less than the Philippine Constitution,” ayon kay Dela Rosa sa kanyang Senate Resolution No. 531.
Sinabi ni Dela Rosa na ilan sa 57 accounts, 31 pages at 21 Instagram profiles ang tinanggal ng Facebook na pawang sumusuporta kay Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte at aktibidad ng militar laban sa terorismo.
Ayon sa resolusyon: The pages that were removed have been criticizing “communism, youth activist and opposition,” and “posts against the Communist Party of the Philippines and its military wing the New People’s Army.”
Inihain ni Dela Rosa ang resolusyon noon pang Setyembre 30, isang araw matapos magalit si Pangulong Duterte sa Facebook sa pagtanggal sa advocacy accounts ng militar. (ESTONG REYES)
