NANATILING walang talo sa tatlong laro ang reigning nine-time UAAP High School Boys’ Football champion Far Eastern University, salamat kay Charles Lobitaña na umakay sa koponan sa 2-1 win kontra National University-Nazareth School sa UAAP Season 82 match sa FEU-Diliman Football Field noong Linggo.

Nakaunang umiskor ang NU Bullpups mula sa third-minute strike ni Angelo Obero, naitabla naman ito ng Baby Tamaraws sa pamamagitan ni Karl Absalon matpos ang pitong minute.

Umatake si Lobitaña mula sa palobong sipa ni Philippine U-23 standout Pocholo Bugas upang ihatag sa Baby Tams ang panalo sa 90th minute.

“I think our players are a little bit tired because they did not get time to get fit after vacation. At our first game we were good, but we had two days rest, and then game,” komento ni FEU head coach Park Bobae.

Dagdag niya: “Our teenage players had a tough outing, but the good thing is they didn’t give up. Our mentality was a little bit stronger than NU, that’s why we got the three points.”

Ilang beses nagkaroon ng tsansa ng NU na makuha ang panalo sa second period, pero hindi nito natapatan ang counter-attack ng defending champion.

Ang Bullpus ay may 1-0-2 (win-draw-loss)

Bago ang FEU-NU game, nakaiwas ang De La Salle-Zobel ang maagang eliminasyon nang talunin ang Ateneo, 3-2 para sa kanilang unang panalo sa season.

Bunga nito, ang La Salle ay 1-0-1 ang record, habang ang Blue Eagles ay 2-0-1.

Ang Junior Green Booters at Baby Tams ay maghaharap sa Miyerkules nang alas-4:00 sa Rizal Memorial Stadium, habang ang Bullpups ay makikipagtipan sa UST sa ala-1:30 ng hapon. (VT ROMANO)
