ISINUSULONG ni ACT-CIS Party-list Representative Jocelyn Tulfo na mabigyan ng sapat na oras sa pagtuturo ang mga guro.

Ayon sa mambabatas, tinatambakan ang mga guro ng trabahong walang kinalaman sa pagtuturo kaya nababawasan ang oras ng mga ito sa kanilang mga estudyante.

Giit ng mambabatas, trabaho ng guro ang mag-lecture, maghanda sa pamamagitan ng paggawa ng lesson plan at i-evaluate ang kanyang trabaho sa pamamagitan ng pagsusumite ng monitoring and evaluation reports kaya hindi dapat itong haluan ng ibang trabahong hindi angkop sa pagtuturo.

Irerekomenda rin ni Rep. Tulfo sa DepEd na paigsiin ang sembreak, alisin lahat ng non-academic extra-curricular events, activities na sa sobrang dami ay nababawasan ang contact time sa mga estudyante ng mga guro.

Bukod dito, naniniwala rin ang mambabatas na mas makabubuti sa mga stakeholder-school administrators, teachers, students, maging sa mga magulang kung sa buwan ng Agosto magbubukas ang klase.

“Principals and their teachers should spend much less time attending meetings called by the superintendents, supervisors, and regional offices. All essential meetings should not interfere with classroom sessions.

Teachers should also not be doing income-generation activities during school hours like selling products or participating in SEC-flagged investment scams,” paalala pa ng mambabatas.

“Relocate toward the end of the school calendar, in April and May, all the teachers’ seminars, the student government elections and co-curricular activities like the science fairs, quiz bees, DepEd-Metrobank Math Challenge, National Festival of Talents, the National Schools Press Conference, and the sports competitions,” banggit pa ng mambabatas.
