HIGIT 28,000 GOV’T ASSETS ISASAPRIBADO NG MARCOS ADMIN

TINATAYANG mahigit 28,000 non-performing assets ng gobyerno ang ililipat sa Privatization Management Office (PMO) para isapribado para palakasin ang ‘government streams’ ng administrasyon.

Sinabi ng Department of Finance (DOF), sa kasalukuyan, may 28,665 non-performing assets ang nailipat na sa PMO, attached office nito na umaakto bilang marketing arm ng pamahalaan pagdating sa transferred assets, government corporations, at iba pang properties na ililipat ng Privatization Council (PrC).

Ang DOF Secretary ang tatayong chairman nito habang ang mga kalihim ng Department of Budget and Management (DBM), Trade and Industry (DTI), National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA), at Department of Justice (DOJ) ang mga miyembro.

Ang mga non-voting members naman ay ang National Treasurer, at ang chairman ng Presidential Commission on Good Government (PCGG).

“The assets we are privatizing are no longer productive and continue to drain the national government’s resources through management, security, and maintenance costs,” ang pahayag ni Finance Secretary Ralph Recto.

“By disposing of these non-performing assets, we eliminate unnecessary expenditures and unlock resources that can address the pressing needs of our people. This approach ensures the efficient use of public funds,” dagdag nito. (CHRISTIAN DALE)
