TINIPON ng Bureau of Customs – Port of Cebu ang kanilang Multi-Sector ­Governance Council (MSGC) na magsisilbing isang advisory board sa port para sa kanilang governance and reform initiatives sa ilalim ng Performance Governance System (PGS).

Kaugnay nito, winelcome ni Port of Cebu Acting District Collector Atty. Charlito Martin R. Mendoza ang council private sector partners kasama ang industry leaders, governance champion at key stakeholders na kinatawan sa customs brokerage, import at export, media, advertising, academe, religious and social work, at civil service.

“I thank our private sector representatives for ­answering our call to take their seat in the MSGC and be involved partners of Customs in our work to transform the Port of Cebu to be truly responsive, resilient, and truly world class,” ani District Collector Mendoza.

Kasabay nito, kinilala rin ng District Collector ang malakas na suporta sa Port’s stakeholders lalo na ngayong panahon ng pandemic, at binigyan diiin ang napakahalagang pananaw ng MSGC na makakatulong sa pagkilos ng Port sa kanilang plano na maabot ang kanilang madiskarteng mga layunin.

Isa sa siyam na key elements ng PGS, ang MSGC functions bilang advisory board na magbibigay ng proactive assistance sa pagkilala ‘targeted contributions, gathering initial inputs, and recommending action plans to achieve the Port’s strategic goals under the PGS.’

Ang PGS ay isa prayoridad sa mga programa ni Commissioner Rey ­Leonardo B. Guerrero na ang layunin na pagbuo ng mga reporma sa Bureau of Customs. (Jo Calim)
