NAGLUNSAD ng malawakang pagtugis sa mga rebeldeng New People’s Army ang pwersa ng Philippine National Police kasunod ng kautusan ni PNP Officer in Charge P/Lt General Guillermo Eleazar.
Sakop din ng direktiba ni Eleazar ang mga indibidwal na posibleng nagbibigay ng suporta sa mga rebelde.
“I am ordering the Regional Directors of PRO4A, Police Brigadier General Felipe R. Natividad and PRO5 PBGen. Bartolome R. Bustamante, to mobilize their forces in order to hit back not only on those responsible but also on the NPA operating in their respective Areas of Responsibility (AOR).
Ang kautusan ay kasunod ng pananambang sa mga pulis kung saan lima ang nasawi habang dalawa ang sugatan.
Bukod sa mga regular armed cadre na responsable sa pananambang ay uusigin din ang mga tao o grupo na nagbibigay ng suporta sa mga rebeldeng NPA. “Ambushes like this do not usually succeed without the help of the CTG supporters. So I am also ordering the RD, PRO5 to conduct a thorough investigation to identify those who may have aided these NPAs in the conduct of their ambush and to bring them to court.”
Mariing kinondena ni Eleazar ang pag-ambush sa mga pulis at nagpaabot din ito ng pakikiramay sa mga pamilya ng nasawing pulis.
“Clearly, these people do not understand the language of peace so will deal with them in a manner that they fully understand our message that we shall never tolerate this kind of terrorism activity,” pahayag ni Eleazar.
Siniguro naman ni Eleazar na lahat ng tulong ay ibibigay ng PNP sa mga pamilya ng nasawing pulis.
Hindi muna pinangalanan ng PNP ang limang nasawing tauhan dahil hindi pa naimpormahan ang pamilya ng mga ito.
Biyernes ng gabi nang tambangan ng NPA ang pitong miyembro ng 2PFMC sa Barangay Dumagmang sa bayan ng Labo na nagresulta ng tatlong oras na sagupaan.
“These five young men held their ground and died with their boots on while protecting the barrio against communist terrorists. They deserve all due recognition and honors for their heroism,” wika ni Eleazar.
Ayon kay P/Brig. Gen. Bustamante, nasa area ang mga pulis sa pamumuno ng isang tinyente para magbigay seguridad sa ginagawang kalsada na nagkukonekta sa Camarines Norte at Quezon Province. (JESSE KABEL)
