NAGPAHAYAG ng pagkabahala ang isang senador sa posibleng paglaya ng 10 high profile inmates mula sa New Bilibid Prison (NBP) dahil sa paglilipat sa mga ito sa Marine barracks sa Taguig City.

Ito ang pahayag ni Senador Francis Pangilinan, pangulo ng Liberal Party, kasunod ng ginawang pag-amin ni Justice  Secretary  Menardo Guevarra na inilipat sa Marine barracks ang nasabing mga high profile inmate dahil sa security reasons.

Giit ni Pangilinan, patunay lamang aniya na walang kapabilidad ang prison system sa bansa para bantayan ang inmates sa bansa sa kabila ng nakadetine ang mga ito sa maximum security compound na bantay-sarado ng mga tauhan ng Bucor.

“The explanation of Justice Secretary Guevarra that the transfer was for security reasons is a virtual admission of the inability of our prison system to safeguard inmates. It should be stressed that the 10 convicts are already in the maximum security compound, which is supposedly heavily guarded and employs the strictest security measures,” sabi pa nito.

Nalulungkot umano ito na binibigyan ng special treatment ang mga nasabing inmates kapalit ng pagtestigo laban kay Senador Leila de Lima.

“More than a case of special treatment, one can’t help wonder if this is part of the reward the convicts are receiving for weaving stories and testifying against Senator Leila de Lima,” sabi pa ni Pangilinan.
