PABOR ang ilang senador na ipagbawal muna ang pagpasok sa bansa ng mga turista mula sa Europe dahil sa bagong strain ng COVID-19 na kumakalat doon.

Sinabi nina Senador Grace Poe, Senador Ralph Recto, Senate Minority Leader Franklin Drilon at Senador Joel Villanueva na dapat maging mabilis ang aksyon ng gobyerno upang maiwasan ang muling pagkalat ng virus sa bansa.

“The government should act on this matter decisively and promptly. Considering tightening our borders will be for the good of nations concerned to contain the infection. It’s the vaccine that should be spreading across borders, not the virus,” saad ni Poe.

“We must do everything to ensure the safety and protection of our people,” giit naman ni Recto.

Kasabay nito, sinabi ni Villanueva na tiwala siyang makakukuha pa rin ang bansa ng vaccine laban sa COVID-19.

“Our neighboring countries are managing to secure the best vaccines under negotiated terms. Naniniwala pa rin ako sa kakayahan nating mga Pinoy. Huwag sana nating maliitin ang sarili natin. There are also global calls for just distribution of the vaccine. We have to support this movement,” paliwanag ni Villanueva. (DANG SAMSON-GARCIA)
