CAMP CAPINPIN, TANAY, RIZAL – Patay sa engkwentro ang isang babaeng teroristang NPA sa pinagsamang pwersa ng mga sundalo at pulis noong Lunes sa Brgy. Gapasan, Magsaysay, Occidental Mindoro.

Nakasagupa ng mga militar ang mga teroristang kasapi ng Platoon Serna ng NPA Sub-Regional Military Area 4 D’s MAV na nagtatago sa malalayong lugar sa probinsya.

Narekober sa pinangyarihan ng insidente ang 9mm Pistol, talong improvised explosive devices o IED, isang rifle grenade at subversive documents ng Bayan Muna, Anakpawis, Bayan at Anakbayan pamphlets.

Ayon kay Lt. Colonel Alexander Arbolado, commanding officer ng 4^th Infantry Battalion, ang mga materyales na narekober ng mga sundalo ay “supported the National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict or NTF ELCAC’s claims on the controversial issue against the Makabayan Bloc’s underground connection to the terrorist organizations.”

Pahayag naman ni Colonel Jose Augusto Villareal, commander ng 203rd Brigade ng Mindoro, “No words will ever be enough to express our disgust over the Makabayan Bloc’s unacceptable act in conniving with the NPA terrorists which blatantly pushes our countrymen off a cliff of tragic deaths here in Mindoro and other parts of our country”.

Sinigurado ng militar na ang tanging pamilya ng napatay na babae lamang ang makakukuha ng kanyang katawan, hindi ang mga nagpapanggap na kapamilya at posibleng gamitin sa maling ideolohiyang itinuturo ng kanilang samahan.

Sinabi naman ni Maj. Gen. Greg Almerol, commander ng 2^nd Infantry military, “AFP-PNP, as well as the local government unit’s close collaboration, coordination, and partnership, will be the game-changer in our quest for lasting peace, prosperity and development which every Filipino citizen truly deserves.”

Aniya pa “We do not rejoice in killing our fellow Filipinos, however, we have a solemn duty to protect the greater number of peace-loving citizens of our country.”

Patuloy pa rin ang panawagan ng militar sa natitirang mga NPA na sumuko na upang mapabilang sa programa ng gobyerno na E-CLIP o Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program na siyang solusyon ng gobyerno sa problema sa mga rebeldeng NPA.

Sa ngayon, nananatiling naka-high alert ang mga miyembro ng AFP-PNP sa checkpoints upang masukol ang tumakas na iba pang mga terorista. (CYRILL QUILO)
