MASISIRA sa international community si Pangulong Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr., kapag sumunod sa kanyang bise presidente na si Sara Duterte na kontra sa pakikipagtulungan ng Pilipinas sa International Criminal Court (ICC).

Ito ang babala ni Bayan Muna chairman at dating Congressman Neri Colmenares matapos makiusap si Duterte sa Department of Justice (DOJ) na huwag payagan ang ICC probers na pumunta sa Pilipinas para mag-imbestiga sa war on drugs.

“By following VP Duterte’s stand and refusing to cooperate with the ICC, the government will send a message that it is not committed to upholding its treaty obligations and seeking justice for Dutertes victims,” ani Colmenares.

“This move undermines the credibility of the Philippines as a responsible member of the international community,” dagdag pa ng dating mambabatas at wala aniyang ibang masisira dito kundi si Marcos at hindi si Duterte.

Dahil dito, umapela si Colmenares sa Malacañang na makipagtulungan sa ICC dahil sa ayaw at sa gusto ng Pilipinas ay obligado tayo rito sa ilalim ng Article 127 ng Rome Statute na kasama umano tayo sa bumuo.

“Secondly, this is not about the Dutertes but about following international law and giving families of extra-judicial killing victims access to justice. VP Duterte should not consider the resolutions in both the House and the Senate as a personal affront to her and her father,” ayon pa sa dating solon.

Samantala, habang isinusulat ito ay ipinagpatuloy ng Kamara ang pagdinig sa tatlong resolusyon para himukin ang Marcos Jr. administration na makipagtulungan sa ICC sa pag-iimbestiga sa war on drugs.
