Kaugnay nito, pinaboran ni Senador Panfilo Lacson ang planong ipakalat ang militar at pulisya laban sa lumalabag sa health protocols sa gitna ng paglobo ng bilang ng positibo sa corona virus 2019 (COVID-19).
Sa pahayag, sinabi ni Lacson na nasa ilalim ng health emergency ang bansa kaya karapatan ng pamahalaan na gamitin ang police power nito sa ilalim ng Saligang Batas upang tiyakin ang kaligtasan at kaayusan ng mamamayan.
“We are under a state of public health emergency by virtue of Presidential Proclamation 922. The country is still struggling to recover from the COVID-19 pandemic,” ayon kay Lacson.
Katunayan, ayon pa kay Lacson kapansin-pansin ang pagtaas ng bilang ng positibo sa COVID-19 sa nakalipas na araw kaya’t nararapat lamang na maghigpit ang estado.
“In fact, there is a noticeable spike in the past few days, and the government must use its police power under the Constitution to make sure that the further spread of the virus is prevented or controlled,” ayon kay Lacson.
“That said, civilians should also do their part by cooperating with lawful instructions and following the proper health protocols. This is the key to minimizing the spread of the coronavirus,” dagdag niya. (JESSE KABEL/ESTONG REYES)
