The Department of Health – Metro Manila Center for Health Development (DOH-MMCHD) continuously executes all possible strategies specific to population groups and exhausts all efforts to locate the remaining unvaccinated individuals or those who are yet to complete their vaccination with the second dose or booster.
With the recent report of vaccination not being required for face-to-face classes in the country, a number of parents are seeing vaccination for their children as optional. With the foreseen resumption of physically conducted classes and even if schools’ teaching and non-teaching personnel will be required to be fully vaccinated upon their work reporting, the DOH-MMCHD emphasizes to the parents in the National Capital Region (NCR) the significance of equipping them with shields of internal protection, lessening their children’s risk of getting infected with severe effects and complications.
The DOH-MMCHD declares that all vaccines given to the children are proven safe and effective as its Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) has been approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
In light of the concern and hesitancy of parents, the DOH-MMCHD assures that the essence of the vaccination program for children aged 5-11 and 12-17 years old is their health safety and protection.
Similarly, the DOH also urges the rest of the population to also see the urgency in having the booster doses as it is additional protection, especially now that the NCR has been placed under Alert Level 1.
Children aged 12-17 and individuals eligible for second doses and booster shots are strongly encouraged to join the ongoing, massive “JAB” Fair in NCR from March 10-12, 2022 by registering to the nearest barangays and Local Government Units and getting fully vaccinated and boosted!
