INIHAYAG ni Senador Grace Poe na pansamantalang sinuspinde ng Department of Transportation (DOTr) ang mandatory testing ng private motor vehicle inspection centers (PMVIC) hangga’t hindi nareresolba ang lahat ng isyu na bumabalot sa sistema.
Sa pahayag, hinikayat din ni Poe ang DOTr na makipagpulong sa lahat ng stakeholder at dinggin ang kanilang panukala at hinaing.
“We stand by our committee report recommendation adopted by the Senate for the DOTr to deal with the flaws in inspection standards, errors in test results and the lack of transparency in the accreditation of private testing centers,” aniya.
“Hindi pwedeng basta itago na lang sa ilalim ng basahan ang dumi at kalat ng programang ito sa simula pa lang,” dagdag ni Poe.
Samantala, nagpasalamat din si Senador Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go kay Transportation Secretary Arthur Tugade sa desisyon nito na muling bisitahin ang PMVIC system bago tuluyang ipatupad.
“Nagpapasalamat ako sa DOTr sa agarang pagtugon sa ating apela to revisit the Motor Vehicle Inspection System habang inaayos pa ang iba’t ibang isyu hinggil sa implementasyon nito,” ayon kay Go. (ESTONG REYES)
