WALANG dulot na maganda ang pagiging mapusok. Ito marahil ang napagtanto ng isang pulis-Maynila matapos maglabas ng kapasyahan ang Quezon City People’s Law Enforcement Board (PLEB) kaugnay ng pamamaslang sa isang traffic enforcer noong nakalipas na Oktubre.

Sa anim na pahinang kalatas, tinuluyan ng PLEB si Police Lieutenant Felixberto Tiquil kaugnay na isinampang kaso ng Grave Misconduct at Conduct Unbecoming of a Police Officer, nina Paul Timothy Delos Reyes (saksi) at Charilyn Pagsibigan na live-in partner ni Edgar Abad Follero na binaril at napatay sa pag-aakala na karnaper ng motor ang biktima.

Sa testimonya ni Delos Reyes na isang Lalamove rider, tinutulungan lamang umano siya ni Follero matapos masira ang minamanehong motorsiklo sa Pandacan, Maynila. Pagpapatuloy pa niya, hinila ng biktima ang kanyang sirang motorsiklo hanggang sa Roosevelt (Quezon City kung saan sila saglit na huminto para damputin ang nahulog na flaring sa kalsada.

Dito na umano lumapit si Tiquil na agad pinutok ang hawak na baril sa traffic enforcer. Idineklarang dead on arrival si Follero sa pagamutang pinagdalhan.

“We do not buy the alibi of Tiquil that he shot Follero because of self defense. He claims to be a seasoned police officer, and yet at the slightest instance, his first instinct is to inflict a mortal wound against an innocent person,” ayon kay  Atty. Rafael Calinisan, Executive Officer ng PLEB.

“This is a clear violation of the PNP Rules of Procedure. Further, Tiquil also claims to have chased the victims from Nagtahan, Manila up to Roosevelt, Quezon City. How can people pushing a defective motorcycle outrun a seasoned cop on a motorbike? We are more than convinced that Tiquil was not being truthful in his narrative of what happened,” dagdag pa ng abogado. (LILY REYES)
