HANDA si dating Mindanao Development Authority (MinDA) Chairman Maria Belen Sunga Acosta na dalhin sa korte ang usapin ng pagsibak sa kanya sa pwesto ng Malakanyang.

Pumalag si Acosta sa pasya ng Palasyo at nauna nang nagsabing hindi pa bakante ang kanyang posisyon kaya hindi kailangan na siya ay palitan.

Sa pagsibak kay Acosta ay muling umugong ang ‘purge’ sa Malacañang na layon umanong alisin ang mga taong itinalaga nina dating Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte at dating Executive Secretary Vic Rodriguez na tinaguriang ROD-tag.

Noong Biyernes, inanunsyo ng Palasyo na itinalaga ni Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr., si Presidential Assistant for Eastern Mindanao Leo Tereso Abellera Magno bilang bagong chairman ng Mindanao Development Authority (MinDA) kapalit ni Acosta.

Gayunman, umalma si Acosta at hindi agad iniwan ang kanyang posisyon.

Ayon sa ulat, nitong Mayo 13 pa itinalaga ni Marcos si Magno at nanumpa sa kanyang tanggapan sa harap ni Executive Secretary Lucas P. Bersamin noong May 21.

Si Acosta ay itinalaga ni Duterte noong Enero 2022 at dapat ay magsilbi sa nasabing posisyon sa loob ng anim na taon.

Sa isang pahayag, sinabi ni Acosta, “Now I am constrained to seek legal remedy so as not to hinder the regular operations of this office. There are bills to attend to. Financial obligations to be set aside.Salaries to be paid. Decisions to be made. Plans, programs, projects, and policies to be crafted or implemented. Items to be procured.”

Sa kanyang memo, sinabi ni Bersamin kay Acosta na: “I need to stress that your replacement was effective and valid on the assumption of your successor in office on May 21, 2024. Your term of office was terminated for cause due to the loss of trust and confidence in you on the part of the appointing power.”

Nito lamang nagdaang Pebrero, usap-usapan ang ‘purging’ sa Malakanyang matapos ipag-utos ni Pangulong Marcos Jr., ang performance review sa lahat ng presidential appointee.

Duda ng ilang Malacañang insider, target nito ang mga itinalaga nina dating ES Rodriguez at Duterte.

Maging ang nagdaang sibakan sa hanay ng militar ay pinagdudahan na maniobra laban sa mga kaalyado ni Duterte.

Sa isang pahayag, sinabi ni House deputy minority leader France Castro ng ACT party-list, “The current dominant faction in Malacañang apparently succeeded in booting out individuals identified with Rodriguez from key positions in the DND and AFP but in the process placed Duterte generals whose loyalties and policies may still lie with the former president and his family and not with Pres. Marcos Jr.

“Such political maneuverings involving the armed forces is very dangerous because such activities highlight the patronage system in the military and may lead to tensions within their ranks or even military adventurism if worse comes to worst,” babala pa ng lady solon.
