IPINALABAS na ng Department of Budget and Management (DBM) ang alokasyon na nagkakahalaga ng mahigit sa 8 bilyong piso para pondohan ang subsidiya sa eligible rice farmers.

Sa isang kalatas, sinabi ng departamento na inaprubahan ni DBM Sec. Amenah Pangandaman, noong Biyernes, ang pagpapalabas ng Notice of Cash Allocation (NCA) na nagkakahalaga ng P8,053,474,140 sa Department of Agriculture (DA).

“This will fund the distribution of the P5,000 subsidy for more than 1.5 million rice farmers affected by the impact of the Rice Tariffication Law on the third and fourth quarter of 2022,” ayon sa DBM.

Alinsunod din ito sa implementasyon ng P3 billion Rice Farmers’ Financial Assistance (RFFA) program na nagbibigay ng financial support sa mga small-time rice farmer.

Ang unconditional cash aid ay maaari ring makatulong sa rice farmers sa pagbili ng rice inputs gaya ng fertilizer at farm machinery.

Sakop din ng NCA ang “service fee” kabilang na ang halaga ng card generation, Rice Competitive Enhancement Fund-RFFA sa ilalim ng Development Bank of the Philippines. (CHRISTIAN DALE)
