HINIKAYAT ni Pangulong Rodrigo Roa Duterte ang mga incoming Department of Transportation (DOTr) official na ipagpatuloy lamang ang pagsasaayos ng railway system sa bansa.
Sa pagbubukas ng PNR Lucena-San Pablo Commuter Line, sinabi ni Pangulong Duterte na ang “championed programs” ng administrasyon ang nagpuno sa puwang sa transport sector.
“Now, I urge DOTr, especially those who will be left behind, and those who will take over the mantle of leadership, to continue leading the improvement of our railway systems,” ayon sa Pangulo sa kanyang naging talumpati.
“It is my hope that you will never lose sight of this goal as the enhancement of this vital transportation connection will be the key to unlocking even better opportunities for our countrymen,” dagdag na pahayag nito.
Sa kabilang dako, pinasalamatan naman ni Pangulong Duterte si DOTr Secretary Arthur Tugade at ang mga opisyal ng Philippine National Railways (PNR) para sa pagbubukas ng PNR Lucena-San Pablo Commuter Line.
“As my term in office comes to a conclusion, I am thankful that I spent my last days as president witnessing events like this and realizing that even amid challenges around us we will leave a legacy that brought meaningful and lasting changes to the lives that we have touched,” aniya pa rin.
