PINATAWAN ng ‘indefinite ban’ ng Philippine Taekwondo Association (PTA) ang taekwondo jin ng Ateneo Junior High School na naging viral dahil sa pambu-bully nito.
Sa official statement ng PTA mula sa president nitong si Robert Aventajado, inirekomenda ng ad-hoc committee ang indefinite ban kung saan nakasaad ang:
“covers all taekwondo activities such as, but not limited to, competitions and belt promotion.”
Nauna nang nagdesisyon ang pamunuan ng Ateneo nang sipain sa nasabing paaralan ang nasabing taekwondo jin.
Hindi naman tuluyang isinara ng PTA ang pintuan nito sa nasabing taekwondo jin.
Katunayan, handa umano silang muli itong tanggapin sa kundisyong sumailalim muna ito sa ‘rehabilitation at counseling program.’
Sakaling tumanggi ay tuluyan na siyang sisipain ng asosasyon.
Binigyang-diin rin ng PTA, na sakaling sumailalim sa ‘rehabilitation at counseling program’, mananatili siyang nasa probationary status sa loob ng 12 buwan.
“We truly believe that the best way to move forward from this incident is to provide the child with the necessary guidance and mentorship and an opportunity to exhibit remorse and provide restitution to the community in general,” pahayag ni Aventajado.
Nanawagan rin si Aventajado sa publiko na mag-ingat sa pagkokomento dahil pawang ‘minors’ ang sangkot sa nasabing viral video ng pambubully.
“The PTA is reinforcing its teaching guidelines on its principles to ensure it remains relevant in children’s day-to-day activities as well as in modern media. We are encouraging everyone to be mindful of their comments particularly on social media, bearing in mind that the subjects are minors,” dagdag pa ni Aventajado.
