MAGSISILBING quarantine protocols supervisor ang mga pulis sa mga barangay kaugnay sa ipatutupad na full enforcement ng mandatory wearing of face mask at social distancing.

Ito ang inihayag kahapon ng Joint Task Force Covid Shield matapos nilang isulong ang community level enforcement ng dalawang nabanggit na health protocols.

Ayon kay Police Lt. Gen. Guillermo Lorenzo Eleazar, commander ng JTF COVID Shield, inatasan niya ang lahat ng mga police commander para magtalaga ng pulis na magsisilbing quarantine rules supervisor sa bawat barangay para matiyak na maipatutupad ang utos ni Pangulong Rodrigo Roa Duterte na mandatory wearing of face mask at physical distancing.

Pahayag ni Lt. Gen.  Eleazar, ang mga police supervisor sa bawat barangay ay magsisilbing team leader ng barangay security officers o mga barangay tanod, sa pagpapatupad ng minimum health safety protocols sa community level.

Ayon pa sa opisyal, maaring gamitin ng mga local police commander ang existing ‘Pulis sa Barangay’ program ng PNP, na ginamit noon sa peace and order.

“The presence of policemen is not only a proven crime deterrent but also compels civilians to behave. In this time of pandemic when compliance to the minimum health safety protocols is a must

to prevent the spread of the coronavirus, we need to make the presence of the police in the barangay to ensure that the order of President Rodrigo Roa Duterte is enforced properly and strictly,” ani PLt. Gen. Eleazar.

Naniniwala si PLt. Gen. Eleazar na magkakaroon ng bahagyang takot ang mga pasaway na residente sa pagtatalaga ng mga police bilang supervisor sa mga barangay. (JESSE KABEL)
