MATAPOS ang mahigit isang buwan, inaksyunan na ng Mababang Kapulungan ng Kongreso ang inihaing impeachment complaint laban kay Vice President Sara Duterte.

Ang batang Duterte ang unang Vice President na ipina-impeach sa kasaysayan ng bansa.

Sa huling araw ng session ng Kamara kahapon, inilatag ni House Secretary General Reginald Velasco sa plenaryo ang ika-apat na impeachment complaint na isinampa at pinanumpaan ng 215 congressmen.

“The total number of House members verified and sworn before me this impeachment complaint is two hundred fifteen (215) House members,” ani Velasco na sobra na sa 102 na kailangan para idiretso ang impeachment complaint sa Impeachment Court o sa Senado.

“A verified complaint filed by at least one-third of all the members of the House, shall constitute the articles of Impeachment and in this case a verified complaint resolution shall be endorse to the Senate in the same manner as approved bill of the House considering the Secretary General has certified that at least 215 members of the House of Representatives has verified and swore before him the impeachment complaint against Vice President Sara Zimmerman Duterte,” ani House majority leader Jose Dalipe.

Nagmosyon din si Dalipe na atasan si Velasco na iendorso ang article of impeachment laban kay Duterte.

“There is a motion to direct the Secretary General to immediately endorse to the Senate the Impeachment complaint having been filed by more than one-third of membership of the House, a total of 215 members. Is there any objection? The chair hears none, the motion is approved,” deklara ni House Speaker Martin Romualdez.

Dahil sapat ang bilang ng mga mambabatas na nag-endorso sa unang tatlong impeachment case na isinampa laban kay Duterte noong December 2024 ay in-archive na lamang ito at ang 4th impeachment complaint ang inendorso sa Senado.

Kabilang sa nilalaman ng reklamo ang pag-amin ni Duterte na kumausap ito ng assassin na papatay kina Pangulong Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr., First Lady Liza Araneta Marcos at Romualdez kapag may nangyaring masama sa kanya; malversation of public funds dahil sa hindi maipaliwanag kung saan ginamit ang P612.5 million confidential funds; Bribery and Corruption dahil sa monetary gifts na ibinibigay nito sa mga opisyales ng Department of Education (DepEd); hindi maipaliwanag na paglago ng kayamanan; dahil sa pagkakasangkot sa extra-judicial killings sa Davao City at destabilisasyon, insurrection and public order dahil sa pagdepensa kay Apollo Quiboloy, pagdedeklara sa kanyang sarili bilang designated survivor, hindi paggalang sa congressional investigation at iba pa.

Itinuro Si Garin

Samantala, tulad ng inaasahan, pinalagan ng kapatid ni VP Sara na si Davao City Rep. Paolo “Pulong” Duterte ang pagpapa-impeachment sa nakatatandang kapatid.

Isang Rep. Garin aniya ang nangolekta ng lagda ng mga kongresista para agad na maipasa sa Senado ang article of impeachment kahit wala aniyang basehan at malinaw na “political persecution” lamang.

“This administration is treading on dangerous ground. If they were unfazed by the over one million rallying supporters of the Iglesia Ni Cristo, then they are blindly marching toward an even greater storm—one that could shake the very foundation of their rule,” ayon pa sa nakababatang kapatid ni VP Sara.

Sinabi ng mambabatas na hindi ito palalagpasin ng taumbayan dahil nakasalalay na aniya rito ang demokrasya at pagpapatahimik sa oposisyon sa pamamagitan ng mga gawa-gawang kaso laban sa kanyang kapatid. (BERNARD TAGUINOD)
