PINATITIYAK ni Senate President Pro Tempore Ralph Recto na hindi dapat maimpluwensyahan ng mga pekeng Facebook accounts ang 2022 elections.

Sinabi ni Recto na dapat matiyak na ang resulta ng eleksyon ay batay sa malayang pagpili ng publiko at hindi mula sa mga gawa-gawang istorya.

“When unleashed in our elections, this virus is as dangerous as malwares in ballot counting machines,” saad ni Recto.

Ang reaksyon ay Recto ay kasunod ng pagtanggal ng Facebook ng mahigit 100 fake accounts na inuugnay sa pulisya at militar,

Hinimok ni Recto ang Comelec at Department of Information and Communications Technology na magtulungan upang makapaglagay ng firewall laban sa alien-generated o alien-funded content na mang-iimpluwensya sa taumbayan.

“They should ensure that our submarine cables will not end up as puppet strings that can sway voting choices and dictate the outcome of a political exercise that should be limited to Filipinos alone,” diin ni Recto.

“We should begin devising ways on how to detect and repel foreign interference in the 2022 polls,” dagdag pa nito.

Naniniwala naman ang senador na hindi makikipagsabwatan ang mga kandidato sa mga tinawag na mga alien accounts na may pansariling interes. (DANG SAMSON-GARCIA)
