PITONG mangingisda ang nailigtas ng mga tauhan ng Philippine Navy at Philippine Coast Guard matapos na magkaroon ng engine failure ang kanilang fishing boat sa dagat na sakop ng Silaqui Island sa Pangasinan, ayon sa ulat ng Northern Luzon Command.
Ayon sa report na ipinarating kay NOLCOM commander, Lt. Gen. Arnulfo Marcelo Burgos, sinaklolohan ang pitong mangingisda, may 15 nautical miles northwest ng Bolinao, Pangasinan makaraang i-radyo sa kanila na nawawala ang fishing boat.
Agad na minobilisa ng Naval Forces Northern Luzon ang kanilang mga tauhan mula Patrol Craft 388 (PC 388) para magsagawa ng search and rescue operation.
Natagpuan ng mga tauhan ng PC 388 ang mga mangingisdang sakay ng FB Sea Hunter malapit sa Silaqui Island. Agad na inilipat ang mga mangingisda sa PC 388 at binigyan ng proper health screening bilang
pagsunod sa health protocols na ipinatutupad bunsod ng COVID-19.
Ayon kay Capt. Francisco G. Tagamolila, commander ng Naval Forces Northern Luzon, agad na pinagkalooban ng tubig at pagkain ang mga sinagip.
