BUBUSISIIN ng Commission on Elections (Comelec) kung magkakaaberya ang gaganaping barangay election sa Disyembre 5 sakaling matuloy ang pagpapatupad nito.
Bukod dito, masusi ring tinatalakay ang posibleng paggamit sa mahigit 97,000 vote counting machines (VCMs) sa nasabing halalan.
Ayon kay Acting Poll Body Chairperson Socorro Inting sa isang forum kamakailan, sa mahigit 107,000 VCMs na ginamit noong May 2022 election, mahigit 97,000 ang ginamit sa mga naunang halalan
“I am not prematurely deciding or influencing the policy direction of the Comelec en banc but I think everyone will agree to a meticulous discussion and review of the propriety of using these VCMs in future elections,” pahayag ni Inting.
Ang nasabing VCMs ay unang ginamit noong 2016 polls.
Nabatid naman mula kay Spokesperson John Rex Laudiangco, tanging maliit na bahagi ng VCMs ang nagkaaberya noong May 9 election.
“We have to admit there were failures in the VCM on election day, only 477, or 0.45 percent failed. Other failures, prior to election day and were readily addressed by the contingency plan. For SD (secure digital) cards, only 428 failed on election day and were readily configured in the repair hubs,” dagdag niya.
Kasalukuyan ngayong naghahanda para sa Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan elections (BSKE) na ipatutupad sa Disyembre.
Noong Hulyo 15, nakapagtala ng kabuuang 1,307,593 na aplikasyon para sa pagpaparehistro bilang regular na mga botante at mga kabataan para sa darating na halalan. (RENE CRISOSTOMO)
