NANGANGAMBA ang isang mambabatas sa Kamara na hindi maililigtas sa dayaan at katiwalian ang 2025 election at mga susunod pang halalan kung itutuloy ng Commission on Elections (Comelec) ang kontrata sa Miru System.

Dahil dito, nagpatawag si House deputy minority leader at ACT party-list Rep. France Castro ng imbestigasyon kasabay ng panawan sa Comelec na ikonsidera ang pagbibigay ng kontrata sa nasabing kumpanya na nakabase sa South Korea.

“The past failures of Miru voting machines in other countries highlight the significant risks associated with their use in the Philippine electoral system. The potential for manipulation and corruption poses a grave threat to the democratic process and the country’s stability,” ayon sa mambabatas.

tinutukoy ng mambabatas ang karanasan ng Congo at Iraq sa Miru System kung saan nagkaroon umano ng technical glitches, pagpalya ng kanilang makina at software errors na naging dahilan para hindi tumugma ang nabilang na boto.

Bukod dito, nagkaroon umano ng delay sa pagrereport sa resulta ng botohan sa nasabing bansa na posibleng mangyari rin sa Pilipinas.

“Furthermore, concerns have been raised regarding the sole lone bidder status of Miru for the Philippine election contract, raising suspicions of collusion or preferential treatment. Tailoring terms of reference to fit the capabilities of a specific vendor suggests potential corruption within the procurement process, undermining fairness and transparency,” ayon kay Castro.

Dahil dito, kailangan aniyang imbestigahan ang isyung ito upang matiyak na magiging malinis ang susunod na eleksyon.
