HINDI lang si dating Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte ang dapat imbestigahan sa secret agreement sa West Philippine Sea (WPS) kundi si Pangulong Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr., dahil sa alegasyon ng China na alam ito ng bagong administrasyon.

Ito ang direksyon ng pahayag ni House deputy minority leader France Castro kaugnay ng pagkumpirma ng Chinese embassy sa Pilipinas na totoo ang kasunduan sa pagitan ng dalawang bansa sa West Philippine Sea (WPS).

Mariing kinondena ng mambabatas ang kasunduang ito na maituturing aniyang “betrayal of national interest” at “sell-out” sa soberenya ng bansa kaya dapat imbestigahan at panagutin ang mga dapat managot.

“The Filipino people have the right to know the truth about this alleged agreement. What did the Duterte administration agree to? What concessions did he make to China? The people deserve transparency and accountability from their government,” ani Castro.

Base sa kasunduan na tinawag na temporary special arrangement na ginawa nang bumisita si Duterte sa China noong 2016, pahihintulutan ang maliliit na mangingisda sa Scarborough Shoal subalit ipinagbabawal pumasok sa loob ng 12 nautical miles ang militar, Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), barko, official planes.

Napagkasunduan din umano na hindi magdadala ng construction materials ang Pilipinas sa BRP Sierra Madre na nakadaong sa Ayungin Shoal.

“It’s outrageous that the Duterte administration would even consider making a deal that compromises our country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. And now, China is saying that the Marcos Jr. administration is aware of this deal and has even implemented it during its first year in office,” ani Castro.
