ISINAMPA na ng Philippine National Police (PNP) ang kasong murder sa dalawang suspek sa pagpaslang sa beteranong mamamahayag na si Jesus “Jess” Malabanan, dalawang buwan makalipas ang krimen.

Sinabi ni Undersecretary Joel Sy Egco, Executive Director ng Presidential Task Force on Media Security (PTFoMS), nagsagawa ng masusing imbestigasyon ang Special Investigation Task Group (PNP-SITG) ng PNP sa pagpaslang kay Malabanan at matagumpay na nakumpleto ang initial findings kasama ang paghahain ng murder charge sa Office of the Prosecutor ng Calbayog laban sa mga suspek na sina Aries Solomon at Jerry Trinidad, kapwa mula sa Tinambacan District, Calbayog City.

“I commend the men and women of the PNP who worked tirelessly in the investigation into the killing of my colleague and friend, Jess Malabanan. We are very grateful for your swift and thorough work in identifying the perpetrators of this heinous crime,” ayon kay Egco.

Kumpiyansa si Egco sa imbestigasyon ng PNP at tiniyak ang patuloy na pakikipag-ugnayan sa SITG Malabanan.

“I am confident that justice will soon be achieved in this case. The government through this Presidential Task Force created by President Rodrigo Duterte will not stop until the perpetrators of this dreadful act are made to pay for their crimes,” ani Egco.

Si Malabanan, correspondent ng Manila Standard, ay pinagbabaril habang nanonood ng telebisyon sa kanyang tindahan sa Barangay San Joaquin, Disyembre ng nakaraang taon.

Tumakas ang mga salarin sakay ng motorsiklo.

Idineklarang dead-on-arrival sa ospital si Malabanan dahil sa tama ng bala sa ulo. (CHRISTIAN DALE)
