IPINAGBAWAL ng Bureau of Immigration (BI) sa kanilang mga empleyado ang pag-post ng videos ng kanilang pagsasayaw na naka-uniporme, kumakanta at habang sila ay nagtatrabaho o iba pang pagkilos habang suot ang kanilang official uniform, sa social networking service na tinawag na Tiktok.

Ayon kay BI Commissioner Jaime Morente, ang pagbabawal na ipinatutupad ay kaugnay sa regulasyon ng bureau hinggil sa pagsusuot ng BI uniform, na ang integridad ay dapat ipairal sa lahat ng panahon dahil ito ay kumakatawan sa institusyon ng Philippine immigration service.

“Our policy on the wearing of the BI uniform is clear. As public servants and supposed model Filipinos, employees must proudly wear their uniform at all times, present a professional image to the public and observe proper decorum and good taste in all their actions while they are on duty,” ani Morente.

Idinagdag pa niya na ang pagpo-post ng videos sa social media ng BI employees ay nakapipinsala sa reputasyon ng bureau at nakagagawa ng negatibong imahe para sa agency’s personnel, lalo na ang frontline immigration officers na nakatalaga sa ports of entry.

Nagbabala rin si Morente sa mga empleyado sa pagkuha ng videos ng kanilang sarili habang nasa trabaho sila.

Ito umano ay paglabag sa standing directive na nagbabawal sa paggamit ng mobile phones at iba pang gadgets habang nagpapatupad sa tungkulin, gayundin sa social media policy ng bureau.

Nakasaad sa BI’s Internal Social Media Policy: “BI personnel must adhere with the Code of Conduct and Ethical Standards for Public Officials and Employees with respect to their actions online, and to desist from behaviors that would bring disrepute to public service. All employees were likewise ordered to observe proper decorum on social media to protect the integrity of the agency.”

Ang kautusan ni Morente ay nag-ugat sa mga lumabas na iba’t ibang videos ng airport immigration officers sa Tiktok social networking service.

Tinukoy pa ng BI chief, ang Tiktok videos ay nagpapababa sa imahe ng bureau.

Binalaan din niya ang mga empleyado na hindi susunod sa kautusan na ang mga ito ay maaaring sampahan ng kasong administratibo katulad ng ‘insubordination and conduct prejudicial to the interest of the service’. (JOEL O. AMONGO)
