BINAWI na ng Food and Drug Administration (FDA) ang direktiba nitong nagpapatigil sa produksiyon ng Ivermectin.

Inilabas ng FDA ang kautusan pabor sa Ivermectin, sa pamamagitan nina Cristal Jule Dolendo at Michael Galang na inisyu noong Marso 29 ng kasalukuyang taon.

Ang kautusan ay “To lift the [FDA] directive “Temporarily stop production of affected product lines /stand or batches (Ivermectin)”.

Nangangahulugang maaari nang suriin at pag-aralan kung totoong epektibo ang Ivermectin laban sa coronavirus disease – 2019 (COVID-19).

Inilabas ang kautusan ng FDA makaraan ang kolektibong panawagan ng mga kilalang organisasyon mula sa iba’t ibang sektor at industriya.

“We respectfully appeal to our Hon. President Rodrigo R. Duterte, Senate President Vicente Sotto III and Speaker Lord Allan Velasco to give serious, urgent and immediate attention to Ivermectin as an inexpensive drug to prevent and treat COVID-19 during this public health crisis,” nakasaad sa panawagan.

Ang lumagda sa panawagan ay sina Sergio Ortiz-Luis Jr., pangulo ng Employers Confederation of the Philippines (ECOP); Ambassador Benedicto Yujuico, pangulo ng Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI); Jose Luis Yulo, pangulo ng Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines Islands (CCPI); Dr. Jesus Arranza, Federation of Philippine Industries Inc. (FPII); Atty. Rico Domingo, pangulo ng Philippine Bar Association (PBA); Alberto Lina, pangulo ng Federation of Philippine Industries Inc. (FPII); Atty. Ferdinand Nague, pangulo, ng Philippine Maritime Law Association of the Philippines Inc. (PMLAPI); Dr. Fernando Martinez , pangulo, PCCI Pasig City; Atty. Joey Lina, pangulo, Sagot Kita Bayan; at Cory Quirino, chairman, Volunteers Against Crime and Corruption (VACC).

Sa hiwalay na panayam kay Dr. Chie Umandap, chairman ng Advocates and Keepers Organization of OFW Inc. (AKO OFW), idiniin nitong pabor ang kanyang samahan sa anomang gamot na makatutulong laban sa COVID-19.

Ani Umandap, kinakatigan ng AKO OFW ang paggamit ng Ivermectin kung makalulunas ito sa mga tao laban sa COVID-19.

Ayon kay Dr. Allan Landrito, isa sa mga manggagamot na ipinaglalaban ang Ivermectin, umabot na 8,000 ang pasyenteng napagaling niya sa COVID-19 gamit ang Ivermectin.

Ang Ivermectin na tinutukoy niya ay hindi iyong gamot sa sakit ng hayop tulad ng kabayo at iba pa kundi iyong para sa tao.

Ang ginawa raw ni Landrito ay nag-angkat siya ng Ivermectin at kanya itong ikinompound bago ipinanggamot sa mga taong mayroong COVID-19. (NELSON S. BADILLA)
