NAKIPAG-PARTNER ang Bureau of Customs National Trade Facilitation Champions kamakailan sa United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UN ESCAP) para sa pagpapalawak ng electronic trade data exchange.
Ang pagtutulungan ay bumagsak sa ilalim ng Framework Agreement on Facilitation of Cross-border Paperless Trade in Asia Pacific (CFTA), isang UN treaty na ang layunin ay para pabilisin ang implementasyon ng digital trade facilitation measures para sa kalakalan at pagpapaunlad sa pagitan ng ESCAP at Philippine Bureau of Customs.
Ang insights na ibinigay ng BOC National Trade Facilitation Champions sa isinagawang joint consultative session ay mahahalagang input para sa pag-aaral ukol sa posibilidad na negosyo sa electronic exchange ng trade-related data and documents sa Pilipinas.
Ang pag-aaral ay para hanaping mabuti sa isang komprehensibong pag-aanalisa ng kakayanan, ang ‘technological capabilities, legal frameworks, and operational requirements necessary’ para sa implementasyon ng electronic trade data exchange.
Karagdagan nito, ang layunin din nito ay para alamin ang mga potensyal na hamon at mga panganib at bumuo ng epektibong mga paraan upang pagaanin ang mga ito.
Sa kanyang mensahe sa ESCAP, kinilala ni Commissioner Bienvenido Rubio ang suporta ng United Nations ESCAP sa pag-iimplementa ng Framework Agreement on the Facilitation of Cross-Border Paperless Trade in Asia and the Pacific, pati na rin ang kasalukuyang ugnayan.
“On behalf of the Bureau of Customs, I convey our commitment to facilitating trade and ensuring the efficient and effective movement of goods across borders. We believe that the implementation of paperless trade will not only help us achieve these objectives but also enhance transparency and reduce expenses,” ani Commissioner Rubio. (JO CALIM)
