Tinatrabaho na ng Mababang Kapulungan ng Kongreso ang kompensasyon o bayad sa mga biktima ng Marawi Siege.
Sa unang pagdinig ng bagong tatag na House committee on disaster management, sinabi ni Bataan Rep. Geraldine Roman, chairperson ng nasabing komite na pag-iisahin ang tatlong panukala na hinggil sa monetary compensation sa mga biktima ng giyera sa Marawi City.
Kabilang na sa panukalang ito ang House Bill (HB) 8200 na inakda ni Akbayan party-list Rep. Tom Villarin kung saan hiniling nito na maglaan ng P30 Billion ang gobyerno para sa tulong pinansyal ng mga biktima ng giyera.
“It is a timely intervention to change the narrative of death and destruction and bring
justice to the victims of this human tragedy inflicted by both sides of the conflict. Otherwise, the terrorists’ narrative of martyrdom will be embedded in the minds not
just of the victims but to the Maranao people,” ani Villarin.
Sinabi naman ni Lanao del Sur Rep. Ansaruddin Adiong sa kanyang HB 7711 at Lanao del Sur Rep. Mauyag Papandayan Jr, HB 8099, na obligasyon ng gobyerno na tulungan ang mga nabiktima ng giyera.
“Surviving victims of the siege long to return to their shattered houses and rebuild their homes. While the government has set the stage for the building of Marawi’s public infrastructure, there is an urgent need to address the loss of private homeowners, who have lost their homes, properties, businesses and livelihood due to the bombings and the raging battle between the ISIS and the government forces,” ani Papandayan.
Sa nasabi ding pagdinig, nagpahayag ng pagkainip si House Speaker Gloria Macapagal Arroyo sa pagpapatayo ng mga proyektong pabahay para sa mga nawalan ng
bahay at kabuhayan sa Marawi Siege.
“Everywhere I go, I keep hearing abroad and here, comments about they haven’t seen
anything on the rehabilitation of Marawi. Let’s find out what is it. What is the stage,” ani Arroyo.
Lumalabas sa pagdinig na hindi pa nasisimulan ang konstruksyon sa mga housing project ng gobyerno sa Marawi City.
