NASA mahigit 25 milyon na raw pala ang bilang ng mga mag-aaral na nakapag-enroll sa School Year 2023-2024.

Batay sa datos ng Learner Information System (LIS), pumapalo na raw sa 25,433,737 ang kabuuang bilang ng mga nagparehistrong mag-aaral para sa bagong taong panuruan.

Sa bilang na ito, pinakamarami sa Region IV-A, 3,760,530; sinundan ng Region III o Central Luzon, 2,802,657; at pangatlo naman ang Metro Manila o National Capital Region (NCR), 2,631,737.

Nakapagtala naman ng 243,667 na student-enrollees ang Alternative Learning System (ALS).

Samantala, ipinagtanggol ng Office of the Vice President (OVP) ang 433 security personnel ni Vice President Sara Duterte-Carpio noong 2022.

Tinawag ng OVP bilang “absurd” at “completely lacking basis” ang pagkukumpara nito sa mga dating bise presidente.

Ayon sa OVP, wala naman daw palang masamang nakikita ang Commission on Audit (COA) sa pagkakabuo ng Vice Presidential Security and Protection Group (VPSPG).”

“The deployment of VPSPG personnel largely depends on the assessment of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and the Philippine National Police (PNP). The OVP remains grateful to the AFP and PNP for supporting the VPSPG and OVP,” paliwanag ng tanggapan ng pangalawang pangulo.

Kung matatandaan, isiniwalat sa pinakabagong COA audit report na nagkaroon ng 455-percent increase sa security and protection noong 2022.

Mas mataas daw ito kumpara sa 78 detailed military personnel sa ilalim ni dating vice president Leni Robredo noong 2021.

Sinasabing sa 683 personnel na kasama sa manpower roster ng OVP para sa kasalukuyang taon, tinatayang 63 porsiyento o nasa 433 indibidwal ang bahagi ng VPSPG na katumbas ng anim sa kada 10 OVP personnel.

Dahil daw pala ito sa iba’t ibang engagement ni VP Sara bilang second-highest elected official ng bansa.

Siya rin kasi ang kalihim ng Department of Education (DepEd), co-vice chairperson ng National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC), at presidente ng Southeast Asia Ministers of Education Organization (SEAMEO).

“The VPSPG will wholly provide all future Philippine Vice Presidents with necessary security and protection, a fundamental task that it will inevitably perform even when the Vice President and the President face the misfortune of having a relationship strained or broken by political differences – a troubling situation we have seen during the past administration,” dagdag pa ng OVP.

Sa palagay ko, wala namang masama rito.

Dapat lang naman talagang magtalaga ng maraming security personnel sa tanggapan ni VP Sara.
