INIUTOS ni Police Lt. Gen. Guillermo Lorenzo Eleazar, commander ng Joint Task Force COVID Shield ang pagpapaigting ng police visibility sa mga bus terminal ngayong ibinalik ang bus operation ng mga Metro Manila bound provincial buses.

Sa koordinasyon sa Philippine National Police (PNP) na pinamumunuan ni General Camilo Pancratius Cascolan, inatasan ng JTF COVID Shield ang lahat ng concerned police commanders na palakasin ang police visibility sa lahat ng passenger bus terminal na pinayagang bumiyahe papunta at pabalik ng Metro Manila simula September 30.

Ayon kay Lt. Gen. Eleazar, makatutulong ang presensiya ng mga pulis sa mga bus terminal sa pag-iral ng disiplina at kaayusan oras na magsimulang dumagsa ang mga pasahero sa mga terminal ng bus.

“We need to ensure that both the bus company employees and the passengers will observe the minimum health safety standard protocol especially on the aspects of wearing face masks and face shields and the observation of physical distancing inside the passenger buses,” ani PLt. Gen. Eleazar.

Una rito, pinayagan na ni Department of Transportation (DOTr) Secretary Art Tugade sa pamamagitan ng Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB), ang pagbabalik operasyon ng 12 modified provincial bus routes sa Metro Manila mula Pampanga, Batangas, Laguna at Cavite simula nitong Miyerkoles.

Pinaboran naman ni Cascolan ang police marshalling sa mga public transportation upang matiyak na maipatutupad ang mga itinakdang quarantine at health protocols gaya ng one-meter physical distancing, pagsusuot ng face mask at face shield at pagkuha ng body temperature.

“Our presence in bus terminals and other possible bus stops is not only for peace and order purposes but also in compliance with the mandate given to us to protect as many people from coronavirus infection by strictly implementing the quarantine rules,” ayon kay Eleazar.

Inatasan din ng heneral ang mga pulis na pag-aralan ang area at humanap ng lugar kung saan maaring dumulog ang mga pasahero na gustong humingi ng tulong o magsumbong ng mga lumalabag sa quarantine protocols.
