BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. — Muling nagkaharap sina eight-division world champion Manny Pacquiao at Adrien Broner sa ikalawang press conference ng kanilang WBA welterweight match sa Enero 2019.
Katulad sa unang press conference sa New York, nagpalitan ng pangako ang magkabilang kampo sa kung ano ang dapat asahan ng fans sa kanilang 12-round fight na gaganapin sa MGM Grand Garden Arena sa Las Vegas, mula sa pinagsanib na promosyon ng MP, Mayweather at TGB at mapapanood sa pamamagitan ng Showtime PPV.
Inihayag ni Broner na hindi siya kayang talunin ni Pacquiao.
“January 19, I am coming to win. Screw the money, I’m going to be victorious. They keep talking about a Pacquiao-Mayweather 2, but I’m going to mess those plans up. I just don’t see Manny Pacquiao beating me,” kumpiyansang lahad ni Broner.
Dagdag pa niya: “Hope isn’t my strategy – there will be no luck. I feel like he can’t beat me. Look at my resume – what do I do to southpaws? I stop them. Going into this fight, I’m very confident. I’m going to do what I always do to southpaws and dismantle him.”
Binigyang-diin naman ni Pacquiao na hindi niya dapat balewalain ang kakayahan ni Broner, dahil ito ang kanyang pasaporte para sa rematch kay Floyd Mayweather Jr.
Binanggit din ng Fighting Senator na marami pa siyang labang gagawin sa Amerika.
“This fight is going to be a good fight. I have to pass through him before fighting Floyd Mayweather. I want to prove to the boxing fans that Manny Pacquiao is still in the pack. You will see more fights with Manny Pacquiao here in the United States,” panimula ni Pacquiao, na babalik ng Pilipinas sa Miyerkules at agad sasalang sa training.
Batid rin ni Pacquiao na mas bata sa kanya si Broner, bukod pa sa mas mabilis, gaya ng bibig nito, kaya’t hindi puwedeng i-underestimate ang kakayahan.
“He’s young and he’s fast – and he’s fast with his mouth. There will be more action in the ring – we know what the people want. It’s going to be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to see a fight you will never forget,” dagdag niya.
