Para palakasin ang border security FORUM ISINAGAWA NG BOC, PDEA AT PHILPost

PINANGUNAHAN ng Bureau of Customs ang pag-organisa ng isang Inter-Port coordination virtual forum para sa lalo pang pagpapalakas ng border protection na isinusulong ng pamahalaan.
Kasama sa naturang aktibidad na pinagunahan ng BOC-NAIA at Port of Manila ay ang Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) at Philippine Postal Corporation (PHLPost) noong nakaraang Marso 29, 2021.

Sa nasabing forum ay tinalakay ang tinatawag na interdiction processes at iba’t-ibang operations and best practices para matiyak na maging maayos ang inter-port at inter-agency na koordinasyon sa panahon ng pagsasagawa ng anti-illegal drugs operations.

Dinaluhan nina NAIA District Collector Carmelita M. Talusan, POM District Collector Michael Angelo Vargas, Central Mail Exchange Center (CMEC) Acting Subport Collector Mark O. Almase, Customs Postal Office Chief Dr. Zaldy Almoradie, PDEA NAIA-IADITG Deputy Commander Gerald Javier, Philpost Managers Donabel Asunsion at Roger Tumblos.

Kasama din ang mga tauhan sa CMEC and Customs Portal Office (CPO) examiners, at BOC operatives – Enforcement and Security Service (ESS), Customs Intelligence & Investigation Service (CIIS), X-ray Inspection Project (XIP), at Customs Anti-Illegal Drug Task Force (CAIDTF).

Ayon kay Collector Talusan, ang forum ay nakalinya sa direktiba ni  Bureau of Customs Commissioner Rey Leonardo B. Guerrero sa pinatinding kampanya laban sa lahat ng uri ng smuggling.
Sa bahagi aniya ng Port of NAIA, patuloy ang kanilang inter-port assistance at koordinasyon sa iba’t-ibang ahensiya para sa lalo pang pagpapalakas ng border protection.

Iginiit naman ni POM District Collector Vargas na ang naturang forum ay inisyatiba para palakasin ang anti-smuggling at border security efforts ng BOC at pahusayin pa ang pakikipag-ugnayan sa partner agencies.

“It’s a good example of how two ports work together,” dagdag pa ni Vargas.

Ang direktiba ni Commissioner Guerrero sa lahat ng ports ay dagdagan pa ang ‘profiling, examination and inspection, at continues vigilance’ laban sa pagpasok ng  illegal goods sa panahon ng Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) at Lenten season.
