KWALIPIKADO na ang Quezon City University (QCU) na pinatatakbo ng lokal na pamahalaan ng Lungsod Quezon, sa free higher education ng Commissioner on Higher Education (CHEd) sa ilalim ng Republic Act (RA) 10931.
Pinangunahan ng CHED ang paggawad ng Institutional Recognition (IR) sa Quezon City University para sa libreng pag-aaral ng kanilang 8,000 students na karapat-dapat para sa free higher education (FHE) at tertiary education subsidy (TES) sa ilalim ng Republic Act 10931 o ang Universal Access to Quality Tertiary Act of 2017 (UAQTEA).
Ang CHEd at si United Student Financial Assistance System for Tertiary Education (UniFAST) Board Chairman Popoy De Vera, kasama sina UniFAST OIC Executive Director Ryan Estevez at Commissioners Aldrin Darilag at Ronald Adamat ay dumalo sa ginanap na Gawad Parangal trophy sa QCU.
“When the CHEd law was created, there was no local college or university mentioned. It only talks about the state universities and colleges which are created by national law. Under the Duterte administration the link between the LUCs and CHED was solidified, specially through RA 10931 which included LUCs that comply with CHED Institutional Recognition of the Certificate of Program Compliance,” ani De Vera.
